3D break anyone?

December 2, 2009 at 7:31 pm (Me, My Various Works) (, , , , , , )

So I’ve recently been working on my second big 3D project or second demo reel really. And it’s starting to really feel like working on a demo reel again. In other words, it’s starting to get stressful, and somewhat annoying. I still enjoy it though, so no worries. But to keep myself sane over the past few days I had decided that it had been far too long since I had worked on anything traditional. About a year to be exact, and even before that I wasn’t doing a lot of it like I used to be. So anyway, here were the results:

I don’t usually draw people either, so this was actually pretty fun.

My Art History

March 10, 2009 at 6:15 pm (Me) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Hello everybody.

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve created a new page over in the side bar called “my art history”. It has a collection of a few of my more traditional art pieces from the last few years. Feel free to check it out if you wish.

What’s next?

February 17, 2009 at 11:29 pm (Me) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Being my first blog, maybe I should introduce myself eh?

Well, my name is Becky Manders. I’m currently a student at BCIT, where my specialty is digital animation. I chose this field because I’ve been a “girl gamer” for pretty much my whole life… I have my dad to thank for that as I watched him play a lot when I was younger, and developed an interest right away. I also love art and stories in general, and what better way to combine the two than a video game? None right? Well, good video games anyway. So now I’m pursuing my dream of working in the video game field.

I’m currently in my second semester (one more to go), and my goal right now is to become an environment modeller. Halo 2 was actually the game in which I started to become really passionate about environments. I generally work in Maya when I’m modelling, but I’m somewhat familiar with XSI as well. As for texturing that’s all done with Photoshop. I’m still learning right now, but as I go along through my program, I might post some of the projects that I’m working on if I think they’re worth it.

I have all of the current “next gen” systems. Even the handheld systems. I actually won my PSP at the PNE on a game. So I spent $8 dollars to get it. I generally stick to the Xbox 360 though. As a gamer, I’ll also be posting different game reviews. Whether they be games I’m currently playing, old favorites or the worst video game I’ve ever played, you’ll probably see a review at least once a week.

As for what’s next, I guess you’ll just have to come back and see.
